Good morning fellow squarebody owners! I have owned many of these trucks over the years but never seen a truck like I bought yesterday…it is a non dually K30 Silverado, blue and white, with power windows and locks, it had a 6.2 diesel but now a 454. My question is on the glove box data sticker, it says military vehicle on one side and “Army vehicle ident” on other side, with interior color listed as “bron” - I have never seen any military vehicles painted anything but green from the factory, and certainly not one with power windows, locks etc… what is this truck? Thank you for any help!

You may be able to use the serial number, which is probably a National Stock Number (NSN), and find it that way.

You might check to see if the VIN on that SPID matches the truck (VIN on the dash and VIN on the frame rail).

There's enough different that I'm not sure they are the same truck.

For example, ZY1 is solid exterior paint. Somebody did an impressive job with that two tone - or - it's a body swap.

That’s what I’m thinking, alot doesn’t seem to “gel” with the paint/pro codes but the VIN definitely matches all other vins, except Indid not check the frame, where would that be?

There should be one near the steering box on the top rail of the frame. And there is another location about mid way under the cab on the top rail good luck finding that one with the cab installed

When GM had the contract for CUCV tactile vehicles it was also comon to see GM trucks used for non-tactical work on posts and bases. Basically vehicles for local support activities.

However, I always assumed they were standard GM vehicles that were purchased at a discount because of the big contract. This one looks like it’s a cross between admin and tactical. The VIN on the spid and the tactical data plate are a match.

Looks like some real liberties have been taken with that CUCV. I've had a few & the SPID along with the additional VIN in the door jamb are convincing enough. It looks like a great truck from the pics.

No experience with cucvs and their specs but like @Keith Seymore said, someone did a very detailed accurate 2 tone on it.
Curious though the peeling paint on the bedside looks just like original paint peeling off of original (black) primer. Which suggests it hasn’t been repainted from mil spec to the current color.

The numbers on the data plate from the driver door jamb align with those on my M1008 vs. heavier models (e.g. M1028, M1010, etc.). It's certainly interesting seeing a military vehicle without the front recovery points, at least. Nice-looking truck!

It's very possible that they just used the sheet metal off the Mil truck and just painted it. There are some really good painters out there that'll replicate a factory paint job to a t. Who knows, maybe the box is original, and the po just used the cab w/vin and painted to match. Several different things could have went on there.
