Yup,and the sedan delivery and panel trucks/vans were used in cities for deliveries. Florists and grocers loved them! The HHR and its panel version are throwbacks to this era.

I see I'm not the only one who figured out that the '81-'87 mirrors fit the door contour perfectly on the Advance Design trucks!
We had our '81 Sierra shop truck, with a trailer hooked up, hauling my old GMC from one storage place to another, and Dad and I got to looking at the mirrors. He had a contour gauge in the truck from doing molding work in the shop, and the two doors are very similarly shaped where the mirror mounts. Guess GM knew they had a good thing....
Edit: those are the van mirrors, but the pickup ones work too. Base is the same....

These trucks were what people used before small pickup sized vans hit the seen. You could get larger vans..

Oooo, I like the 1st one. What year you think and engine? I assume the 2nd has a straight 6 or something. 3rd, would be retrofit for a travel camper, lol.

The first picture 1960-1966 C/K series. Since it has the knee knocker cab (curved glass windshield) it is 1960-1963. Engines, 283 V8 and inline sixs 250, 292? GMC's would have a 305 V6 as well as the V8.

Next is an Advanced Design series, 1947-1955. First post war design, sometimes referred to as the 1st series'

The old International Metro was around for years. 1940-1970s? The truck pictured, probably 1950's.

Note: 1956-1959 GM's were called Task Force series.

@Sgt Gus When I first started working for the company I drove this truck a few times.

If memory serves, it only had a driver's seat. It was used for parts delivery. No insulation, like driving in a drum.

Near the meat market we go to, someone bought one of these within the last few months, but it's the 9-footer and I think it's 64-66. I can't remember if it's wrap around windshield or not.

Yes that's how the old G vans we had at an old job were. Basically the whole box is a giant speaker cabinet! Even if it has the cargo partition, that doesn't help much. And they're cold in the winter and hot in the summer; the HVAC cannot keep up. You can however carry a LOT of cargo in them, and that helps mitigate the noise. They hauled books and magazines, in totes and boxes, at our company.
You can imagine what driving one from Austin to Houston, at night, in the rain, with a growling howling rear axle bearing is like.....

Bass drum...
I think it's a 9-footer, it looks longer than the regular panel truck of the same era. It's definitely an 8-lugger, I know of '63 c10 panel about 1.5 miles from this newly acquired c20 panel. The c10 panel has been sitting a very long time, but looks to be solid from passing by on the street. Probably needs a ton of work, though, they usually do

Yes that's an Action Line ('67-72) Burb. Three doors, rear passenger door only on the passenger side. Not near as common as square body Burbs, they were just starting to become recreational/SUVs instead of just commercial trucks. They might have even still called them "carryall suburbans" in the brochures....
The real holy Grail on these is the panel truck, very rare. I've seen more in ads, than in real life.
My 1972 GMC 3/4 ton Suburban was factory equipped with a BB402 and factory tach.
