Spray bomb repaint at some point, didn't remove the tail lights.
Interested to know what you think the paint history is on your truck (same color, similar/same year).
It's obviously not original paint, nor was mine.
Appears mine was sanded almost completely to bare metal (can see remnants of the original black primer in places) and re-sprayed with a very good adhering (to substrate) beige color primer. Fairly high build too, not just a scratch coat.
The repainted single stage OE colors. But the paint, while adhering to the primer good enough to not peel anywhere except on little spot for presumably a LONG time, easily peeled off the primer.
In this pic you can see the ribbons of color coat on the hood that peeled up rather easily with a razor blade. Cold, it would flake off, heated up, would come off in long ribbons. Probably 95% of the truck peeled like that save for a few select areas mostly where the dark blue was oversprayed outside the strip and then covered with light blue. I'm still a little mystified how that paint stuck for so long and didn't even come off with a turbo nozzle on a pretty healthy pressure washer, yet peeled like a banana
