What are you looking at getting? I've been eyeballing the compressors at Tractor Supply, I saw today they have an Ingersol Rand 80 gallon, 5 horse, two stage compressor for 1K.

I was looking at the IRs, but have heard some not so great things lately (motors burning up, cheap Chinese pumps now, supposedly).

I've been eyeing a 60 gallon Quincy 2-stage. It's pricey, but has good CFM, a great warranty (5 years if you use a start-up kit), and Quincy has great support, and it's 100% USA built. It's rated for 50,000 hours on the pump, and will probably last longer than I do.

Here's the model in question. It goes on sale for $1299 pretty frequently.

I wondered about that. Last I heard the IR was a quality unit, but the one in the store had a motor from Mexico and a pump from India.

Got my square inspected and the oil changed today. It passed with no problems! Such a good feeling. I was feeling the love so I gave the insides a good vacuuming as well as cleaning the windows and dressing up the tires. I also found myself in a perfect spot to aim the headlights that were so crooked. It is amazing how a little bit of time put into the truck can make it that more enjoyable. : )

Do yourself a favor and try to find a rebuild kit that is Ethanol safe. Never know when we may not have a choice anymore.

I hate wind noise in the cab, so I bought some generic weatherstripping from the parts store the other day. Installed it on the door front where the door meets the cab, its like a 2nd seal.

The difference is amazing, I recommend this to anyone. Much quieter now.

Its not the stick on foam, but its pretty similar. Its a stick on rubber, on the shelf right next to the foam.

I almost used the stick on foam, but spent extra for the rubber. i was a little worried the foam wouldnt last and that air may blow right through it.
