Second coat of Gloss Almond on the cab and rear window. Third and final coat in 24 hours. Then on Monday I'll start 3 coats of a Rustoleum approximation of 1976 GM Skyline Blue on the body.

The Burb passed smog today by pretty decent margins:

Now the expectation from my wife is that I actually install the headliner and tune up the AC… But first, new tires.

Your alignment guy is gonna LOVE you for not having the inner fenders in the way ;) He's gonna set the caster along with the camber and toe....right?

I've been there at my brother's shop years ago and it'll definitely be easier! Ha! Yes caster currently at +4.75 degrees (driver and passenger) and camber is about +0.5 to +1.0 (driver and passenger) and toe is driveway decent. KPI & SIA is good. No pulling or weird feelings in the steering either. Checked the alignment on turn plates with bubble gauge prior to requesting +6 degrees caster and -0.5 degrees camber for both sides along with 1/16th toe both sides. Centered steering wheel of course! Ha!

Wait wait wait...can't go posting that and not 'splain. That's not your Dart
Correct it isn’t, it’s one of my bosses 69 Roadrunners.

The B body saga starts here with his neighbors 68 I did a bunch of work on

Then here is the beginning of the work on the 69

Tidying up the exhaust, adding V bands, wideband, gauge cluster under the dash for wideband, temp, and oil pressure, and whatever else I want to do. Then will be swapping it for his late brothers dart to do the exhaust on it and get it on the road.

Wow, you've had quite the B-body process going on! Shame about the '68, that could be a really sweet car with another $15-20k dumped into it to get the body up to snuff but that bronze '69 is super nice! I love that color, hopefully he'll get it painted and done soon

Then I made some plates to strengthen the whole area (at least in my mind)

I put plates at all of the rear spring hanger locations, I think it will be sufficient. These are quite old, I did this back in 2022. Now I need to get all the sheet metal work done on this slow project.
Very nice! How much of a pita was the crossmember removal? Going to remove mine as well because it's right behind that between the two hanger mounting points on the drivers side. Plus what size grade 10 hardware did you use for the crossmember bracket reinstall? If you could remember that would be super helpful, but if you can't it's not a problem. Hell I can't remember what I've had for lunch later in the day at times lol.

Plus while I've got some down time needed to address the rear pinion seal and figured might as well do a diff oil change. Apparently the previous owner had a water leak into the rear diff and never apparently addressed it. Or it's from the pinion seal leaking all these years while she was sitting outside with nothing to cover the diff. She's much happier now with the new seal and fluid. And got some time to clean up the frame a bit more and toss some paint on it while it was decent enough to do so. Will finish the rest of the frame up here soon once the weather clears up and after the frame repair gets finished.

Applied some magical ceramic wax and drove it home, then dropped it and the Ram off for a safety inspection to renew the tags.

It's Holley overhaul time, to finally be rid of that dadgum Edelbrock on my '79 crew cab. Just a basic 600 cfm, but it's what I have available right now and it'll do.

All assembled, with a quick change secondary spring kit. Plus some other odds and ends that may or may not get installed before the Richmond meet. I'm very short on time.

Some late night painting. I got the base coat of Skyline Blue applied. This was my first time working with Bondo as you can tell from the front wheel well. I'm sure the 2nd and 3rd coat will fill everything in and make it smooth as glass. :)

I think all of the hardware was grade 8 3/8" bolts. So far my 77 doesn't have any metric and I plan to keep it that way, 'Merica! It was pretty easy with a air hammer and chisel lol. I took it all the way apart and then bolted it all back together.
