It was $58 plus the tax and $0 shipping. There was a pre-1981 NOS GM knob for $149. The knurling is burly on this one and will last way much longer than the OEM in this style, which is all wore off. Still gonna keep the one that came with the Sub, in case I change my mind at some point in the future.

I can, the value of my time 3-D drawing it aside.

One advantage of printing my own is, I can modify to my want and need.

Can you print it yourself cheaper than the blank one on Etsy? it's like $8 or 9 plus $6 or $7 shipping.

I just put in a TPMS monitor it's solar powered and it just lays on the dash. It was super cheap ($11) and has the external sensors. I got it to try and see if it works Ok and so far I like it. I'm going to get internal sensors, or just another TPMS system with internal sensors.

Installed these window rubbers. I remember finding them at a swap 10 years back, finally got to it. They had a couple issues.....1 clip at the end didn't line up, had to drill a slot in the door lip.....sucked. The clips for the inside seal were 1/4" to shallow, so had to notch the door panel down that much to make it sit proper.....sucked. While prying the old seal off, the pick I was using slipped and went deep into the tip of my middle finger....really sucked!! Decided to play it safe and hit the urgent care for a tetanus shot, which took 2 hours.....still sucking. All's done, took 5 hrs instead of 1, but ddfd. Done, done, f'n done!

I had a similar experience with only minor bleeding. Installed a new regulator in my '86. I had never done one before. After 2 hours it was in and I'm not really sure how. Whats the secret to get it to ride in the tracks correctly?

Not really sure why, but the driver's side window hits major resistance when it's almost closed and the passenger side hits resistance when it's almost all the way open. I had enough and just buttoned it up. That regulator access looked real tight, so I thought i'd save that issue for another day. I'm hoping it's just a matter of clean up, lube and adjustment.

I got my auto meter tach in today. Thought I’d ordered a 3” but it’s actually 2 5/8” which is perfect for mounting on the column and not entirely blocking the Speedo or fuel gauge. Didn’t want to drill holes in dash. It’s already cracked but didn’t wanna add to it.

Got the temp sensor installed and could not find wire to run the sensor wire so will have to pick some up tomorrow. I have a buddy from work 3d printing me a gauge holder for it that will slide in place of the ash tray. Will see how I like it there or if I later decide to do something different and maybe get the ash tray cup holders.

Dropped driveshaft off at a buddies shop to put some new u joints in. I was having a hell of a time getting the rear one out so figured $50 here you can do it lol. Got new spicer u joints going in and got those cheaper from him than I would have buying them.

Gonna change the engine oil while I’ve got it in the air and get wiring ran for trans temp sender. Then time to drop it on the ground and finish top side of the engine. Hopefully not much longer and it will be moving under its own power!

I stuck on a bow tie to my grille, and put a patriotic plate on the front bumper. Also replaced the coolant overflow reservoir and ordered fender badges

Finally got around to putting in my new water pump, started on the new belts and two out of the three new belts from AutoZone are the wrong size, I knew I should have checked them there since it was my second trip in, and I had to bring the old belts for them to verify the sizes...and they still gave me the wrong stuff:whymewhyme:

So now I need to find time to drive the 30 minutes back out there again...

What’s up everyone. Been a minute, BUT I am about to drop the th350 out and get the 700r4 stabbed in. Just need to unbolt the cross member and get the jack in place.

I ended up buying a 2qt larger pan for it, and a temp sensor that replaces the clock and looks like the oem gauges. I was originally planning to remove the fuel gauge and put a tack there and small fuel gauge. But I wanted a trans temp gauge. I also have a derale trans cooler on the way. Trying to do all I can to make this transmission last!

temp gauge is a auto meter 8349 gm factory match gauge, also have a auto meter 2892 z series pedestal tach on the way. Not sure where I’m gonna mount it yet. But will figure that out when it gets here.
Thanks for info on gauges. I was debating on doing something like that.

I was working in the auto parts industry when and where Autozone began doing business. It was a "known" thing that they were part of Walmart although they publicly denied it, and Walmart is known in inside circles as engaging underhanded practices. Of the three local auto parts stores in Bentonville as Autozone opened... two had suspicious fires that closed them down and the other had an attempted arson. They don't prioritize good counter people, they prioritize sales. I don't buy from them.
