My 85 project has a 4.3, getting replaced with a 350. Both engines take the relatively tiny AC whatever 52 oil filter. Donor engine has the angled gmt400 4wd filter mount. Current 4.3 the vertical filter mount.

I’d prefer to run a vertical PH8A/FL-1 equivalent sized filter, as both our minitruck and my 1960s 318/413 Dodges use that size as issued from the factory. Order by the case standardization across our fleet of toys.

Is there an SBC mount that I can just swap in place of the tiny filters? Or is it a bite the bullet, plumb in an adaptor with remote filter/s deal? Ideally, adding a dual spin on transmission filter log inline with the same filters.

I know, 90s technology build of an 80s truck for 2020s garbage gas, lousy infrastructure and supply chain hiccups. But TN to WA runs edge closer to reality everyday. My folks are 1940s models, I do not fly, and my Vortec powered K3500 is about as reliable as moldy bread…

Wix 51794 is what I use on my small blocks.

Does that fit on the tiny V6 filter mount? Both engines take the V6 filter, as does my Vortec equipped K3500.

Big block radiator with built in oil cooler. Truck is also getting an upsized power steering cooler. Both are coming out of a 92 K1500, block is actually a 1979 date code. Radiator is out of the K10 mud racer that initially donated the engine as well. Will be running the 1992 waterpump, alternator, ac, ps on the serpentine brackets/belt it has run for 20 years in the gmt400 donor.

The existing 4.3 vertical filter mount is the oil cooler type. The donor engine has a non-cooler, angled filter mount.

I need to run a cooler ready SBC mount, preferably that takes the Ford/Dodge filter. I have 6 other engines that take the PH8A/FL-1 filter already. 4x 2.3 Ford, 1969 LA318 Dodge, 1968 413-1 Dodge big block. Would rather stock 1 filter that will fit all of the trucks.

I believe there are 2 different styles of oil cooler ready filter adapters, the type is based on hose fitting styles iirc.
