@TPISly-C10 That is a very good looking installation and some nicely chosen components as well. I especially like the corner speaker boxes and the use of the ashtray for the controller, that was well done.

@Flatwater I wonder how many folks on this forum even remember Montgomery Ward? One of my uncles was a Montgomery Ward repair man, he had a van with Montgomery Ward on the sides and repaired appliances. And yeah, I bet those shocks were about to go past their "sell by" date.

As for me, it has been a busy few days. I just dumped some money and some time into the '87.

Of course that was preceded by the re-painting of the wheels and polishing the center caps and some shiny new bolts when I put the center caps back on.

Then I bit off more than I really wanted when I tackled the front leaf springs...

Now I have to clean the thing up for a small local car show. "Classic Vehicle" ownership is not good for a lazy man like myself. You either need a lot of energy and time or a LOT of money. I don't have either.

R&R the fuel tank switch, disassembled and cleaned it. I THINK it is now feeding out of both tanks. UPDATE : I can now switch tanks and both are feeding.

NASCAR’d the new one! Swiping factory steel wheels and hubcaps for my ‘77, then we’ll begin the cannibalism…

change out the steering column lower bearing assembly. I swear someone should make a danm tool to keep it in place so you can put the ring on easily. My right arm looks like it got in a fight with 6 cats cuz of the danm break booster.

What really boggles me after assembly, is that little bit of plastic with that clip on said plastic holds the danm thing together with that big arse spring behind it.

Someone should make a mod to clip on the end of it with threads, then screw on the assembly cap. F.FS danm already lol

I gave it a quick bath and then followed my favorite-ex-brother-in-law to a small local car show. I saw some excellent vehicles and had a nice time. It's amazing how much difference the new mud grips made on my truck, I got a lot of attention today. Lots of folks looking at the Beige Unit. Of course it helped that I parked it next to the Bronco. I tried to take pics of things you folks would like and obviously that meant square body GMs but I caught a few other things as well. I hope y'all enjoy the next few posts as I can only load 5 pics per post.

This truck really appealed to me. The red stained wood in the bed was a nice touch.

These next 3 are of a Superb little Blazer. This fellow worked for a long time to get this vehicle set up just like he wanted it.

This very clean '87 belongs to a friend and former co-worker of mine. It has the motor out of a 2004 GTO which moves it along nicely.

This one is in need of some bodywork but the interior was very well done, if you like that sort of thing.

This one could use a bit of a Refresh but looked decent until I got around in front of it.

So, that's what I did with MY square body today. I drove it, showed and enjoyed it.
