I'm going to be able to put the 292 until probably spring, but I still need O'l Yeller on the road, so I am fixing this catastrophically worn out engine again.

It's two main issues were the fact that it leaks oil like a mother, and that it has a slight knock when warmed up.

Before I even put it in, I knew that the rear most rod bearing was very slightly loose, but I just said screw it. After pulling the pan, it didn't feel much looser, but definitely loose enough.

After pulling the cap, I was very amused with how consistently worn the bearing actually was.

There is no bearing surface left, it's just the copper backing (it's amazing how everything ing in the engine is so consistently worn out).

Oh yea, another thing I did to my truck was lay down a new rubber floor (though seeing the roadsign was awesome, the interior looks so much cleaner)

Started brushing up on my welding to get my exhaust system started. I bought the speed engineering builders kit. After planning it all out, I think I’m a little over my head for the equipment I have. Don’t really have a good way to make/fill in the needed pie cuts and still don’t have enough tubing to even get the mufflers where I want them. Guess I’ll be taking it to an exhaust shop after all. Oh well, at least my welder is fixed and I can do other projects with it.

Lol, maybe it's a joke because you un-lowered it.

The oil spot on the ground though, that's about the right area for a leaking oil pressure sender on a big block.

Ha, I noticed the oil pressure had dropped a bit than before when warms up. I'll sure take a look. I thought it might be along that oil gally. Maybe one of the set screws came loose. Thanks I'll see if that is it.

I might have screwed something up, but I got the engine running and not knocking.

There seems to be a sort of oil channel hole thingy at the edge of the bearing.

My new bearing didn't come with one, the bearings on the 250 that was originally in there didn't have one either, and I couldn't find one like it for sale. What gives? Is going to be properly lubricated?

Went to Walmart and got oil and filter for motor. 6qts of atf fluid. Man it's expensive for name brand. Valvoline was almost $7 a quart. Or superior for a bout 4 something a quart. I went with the valvoline of the 2.

Valvoline is my brand. with that said I just bought 2 cases of NAPA dex/merc atf 3.29 on sale vs 7.5-8 $ a quart. The MSDS for napa ATF is printed by Valvoline https://ehs.cranesville.com/msds.pdfs/SDS(N031).pdf
