Just did the ones on the Burb and they had the plastic ****, no biggie though just heat it up until the **** flows out, then while it's hot I take a socket and give it a whack and the cup falls right out..

Mistook what you said here and did this method. Not hard enough to damage anything, but it was only successful with the slip yoke cups. Your way’s a lot better. The rest didn’t work with this method so I had to use the press to get them out by the time they cooled off and I realized that I went about it with an inferior technique.

Considerable trunnion wear on the slip yoke end. Diff end was still tight, but the trunnion looked marred where it would have done the same thing soon had both of them worn evenly. First two are slip yoke joint, last is diff.

U joint replacement seems like it was long overdue. I got pretty quick at replacing them on my 86 back in the day.

Well the other day i sheared off 2 bolts on my rear bumper while moving logs. The log was bigger than i thought haha. Its all ****** up. Most of the welds that hold the chrome peice on are busted. Perfect excuse to build one now. Im thinking some square tubing with an integrated hitch.

I bought my '79 K30 eight years ago today. I spent the afternoon fixing little stuff on it that I've been putting off for, well, eight years.

Last week I installed a new sending unit in the passenger side tank and remounted all that so today went down to fill up both 20 gallon saddle bags and tore the hell out of a $100 bill, but fortunately there was enough left for beer so stopped by the car wash and gave her a bath, got home and decided she needed a wax job so spent the afternoon putting away some suds and waxing my baby!

I have a habit of not fixing all the little stuff until I get ready to sell somethiing, lol. So for a week or two, I have the vehicle the way I wanted it to be.

R u fiddin to sell the k30 @bucket ??

Nope, I'm fixing to drive it. There's several minor issues with it that are always in the back of my head and keeping me from driving it for one reason or another. I want to be able to turn the key and drive it anywhere in a moment's notice.

Installed a new TV cable because the original wasnt doing anything. While taking it apart I noticed that the cable was disconnected. Installed a new one anyway. Now the pedal is tight and i still have a delayed 1-2 shift. All the other shifts are crisp.
