- Did some surface rust removal on the truck box
- Did some rust removal on the cab
- Did some rust removal on the floor pan
- Removal old crappy vinyl flooring in the cab
- Pulled out bench seat and started to wash interior of truck and give it a good vacuum and wash.
- Did a test paint swatch of a med/dark gray inside the cab.

Did a bunch of cleaning of my bbc, ended up taking the carb, intake, and heads off to look around. Everything was really dirty but I didn't find any cracks or grooves in anything. Anyone know if dished pistons were the norm for an 85 454ci engine? Wasn't sure if it was dished or flat top that was stock.

Yea that sounds right. These old BBCs were VERY low compression engines. Honestly they would benefit greatly from some flat tops or even some domed pistons (essentially making them hemis - just dont tell the Mopar guys that...) you just have to be careful of valve shrouding.

picked up a couple things from the bone yard today for it. cab trim for around the back of the cab, GMC ones YAY!!!, and a new dash bezel. its not perfect but its ALOT better than the one i have. and its different. hopefully it fits right. its out of a 78 Royal Sierra.
I also fixed my trailer lights, and installed my other plate light. Now all my exterior lights work. I am a happy camper now.
