thought they were grooved/slotted due to the constant turning and feeling for the 3rd clunk. So the sh|t will just pull out?
unless the reason it won't spin is that the trans melted together. I have seen them where the converter has welded itself to the input bushing and won't pull out, but that's not likely.

Yeah i hope not. I was fully expecting this engine to have it. By all my reseach done, 87 into early 90s shouldve had it. So either this is a newer late TBI or vortec block, or my research was wrong.
No im gonna have to either fix the TBI or make an electric fuel pump work with a carb.

They are hit and miss. I've seen early ones like that, but it's been too long and I don't recall paying attention to if they were newer replacements, GM service blocks, date codes, etc... or if there is even a correlation to being a roller ready block or not.

Well I was gonna get it back today but I ordered the wrong headers. I got 1 3/4 pipes and needed 2 inch. It blew the gasket on pass side. Got better gaskets and blew again. Pulled it checked and yup too small. So I'll be selling them to get some of my money back from my mistake.

Here's the headders

I'll start a for sale thread for them too.

Harvest is finished so i have time to work on projects. Here are the first pictures I’ve shared of the project.

I decided to do a bunch of work to get the burb ready to go to deer camp. Exhaust was first on the list so off to the muffler shop we went. It’s amazing what rattles and messed up things you hear when you dont have a straight pipe dumped under the driver and passenger doors.

The previous owner was doing body work and there were some spots he had sanded and bondo’d but hadn’t painted yet. That got covered up but i ran out of paint so i couldn’t continue.

The drive to deer camp was the first real drive that i have made and it did fairly well. I made sure to track the miles and fuel ( gauge does not work) and discovered that i am getting a lovely 5 mpg.

I don't like the wheels it has on it and my new ones arrived today. Procomp 69 series 16 inch polished.

The wheels on it are 20 inch moto metals if anyone would like to buy them.

I love your helper there!!

Good luck… I’ve been there before
Got it! No more vibrations and no more fuzzy mirrors!

I am terribly disappointed at the company that built these blocks and their stagnant attitude that they are right and I was wrong.

If anyone's interested, they can PM me for the name of this anal-retentive company.

checked the compression on the replacement LS engine. Looks great.....now it's worthy of the gaskets and oil pump I ordered for it. Getting close to the fun part of swapping it out.

An LED bulb is about the best upgrade I can think of.

It's bittersweet isn't it? You deserve a break but miss the tinkering torture.

Got the new doors on. Panels, armrests, and cranks too.
The shut perfectly, with little force, body line lines up way better, the window goes up and down great, and the locks and latches work great, and i have keys for them too.

Went to auto part store and bought two wheel chocks for the rear, for when I jack up the front end. I asked the front associate if they carried them and they asked “What’s the Year make and model?”.. I nearly just walked out
