Well, the time of a carb'ed 5.3 is over. Drove it a couple hundred miles this weekend, and the POS got 12mpg

That's not gonna get the job done

So tonight I made the first step toward EFI...

That's a good upgrade! This is one of the reasons I've never understood why someone would carb any of the LS based motors when they run so well and efficiently with fuel injection.

We did it because we had no idea what the hell we were doing!

I can honestly say that if we had gone with EFI right off the bat, we'd still be working on it. The knowledge we've gained over the past year is ridiculous. Now it all seems so simple.

But the best thing is, it won't cost much at all to change over. Have most all the parts laying around.
