Weather strip around doors

This has probably been asked 1,000 times but I couldn't find it. I put in some new door weather strip. It went in easy enough and needed to be trimmed about 8". The door is insanely hard to shut now. The alignment is fine once closed AFAIK. I left it closed since Sunday. I just went out to check it out and it's no better.

Is there a trick to this? I was thinking maybe the bottom or top aren't as aligned as I think they are.

Check your door gaps, otherwise mine took a long time to become acceptable, they still aren't great but definitely liveable.

My back doors werent near as bad so alignment will play a big factor, since front doors get wore out much faster.

I actually ended up taking the pex off my striker and that helped until the seals settled in, but that'll mess up your rear edge depth alignment a little bit. And once I put the pex back on it was better than starting but went back to being kinda hard to close again. Now they are decent but not perfect.

It's very common for aftermarket seals to have a very long break-in period. Not just our trucks, but industry wide.

Thanks. This weekend I was planning to pull the whole front clip off for the first time so it sounds like a great time to work on door alignment.

I did mine like a year ago and they are just now where they don't take a lot of force to close, before I had to ride the door shut now, I just push them lightly, and they latch on their own.

Precision parts seal are softer, at least they were a few years ago. Took only a few weeks to break in. I change the weatherstrip in summer. I install them, let them sit till they are hot and close the doors. Let the truck bake in the sun for the rest of the day.
