Okay I've never used a water mist system, but I have an easy up just was wondering would putting a mist system around the easy up and working outdoors on record heat days be a good idea. IDK will my clothes get all wet, my tools etc. Anyone with experience? The good the bad? Has anyone improvised one so I don't have to wait on shipping.Supposed to have record heat the next few days and I have stuff that has to get done.Hoping to do something today not waiting on shipping. If I have to order the Walmart one, thinking I'll do 5 feet on each side and 10 feet on one end of the easy up, pull the front end under it.

They work great, just don’t expose to bare metal. Additionally buying from Walmart, if you don’t like it you can return it

Misters don’t provide near as much cooling if it’s humid out. It’s the evaporation rate that make misters / swamp coolers effective.
Being in KS iirc, you may not see the best effect.
That’s why you only see swamp coolers where the humidity is very low when it’s hot out.
The least of your worries is anything getting wet imo, short of having the heads off an engine maybe. If it’s record temps it’ll dry perty quick just not as quick as if humidity was really low.

If your humidity is much over 50%, the benefit is going to decrease pretty quick. You might find yourself pulsing it on and off to some extent so that you don't just end up with everything wet.

One thing to note, higher water pressure is going to give you much better performance. Low pressure and you will get bigger droplets that just coat everything. Higher pressure will get more atomization and more cooling. At one point, I had one with a dedicated booster pump that worked better, but with Dallas humidity it wasn't great. When a dog chewed the hose, I gave up. But in West Texas, in the dry, they work great.
