Our 85 never gets warm. Thermostat works, heater core is not full of Dexcool “mud” anymore (father in law used orange coolant once instead of green). New water pump and radiator hoses, new radiator, full system flush times 3 to get rid of afore mentioned Dexcool mud…

No heat. No defrost. Fan only works on high.

I’d lay dollars to donuts OP has the same issue, same cause(s)… Firewall full of debris (leaves, pine needles) from a broken firewall top cover and a heater box full of leaves, mouse hair and “rodent rice”… Open up the heater box inside the cab, vacuum it out, add a 195* thermostat and maybe sacrifice a chicken to Marie Laveaux just in case…
Ya I wouldn't doubt it a bit, Its been less of a priority since winter is ending and I have some heat but it's pretty Luke warm just enough to defrost the window. I've done a lot of work to this thing so far sand blasted and painted the frame new suspension leaf springs new bed and panels all new brakes rebuilt the front and rear diffs. The only thing I have left is pull the cab off to fix the 2 front broken cab mounts and get a real nice paint job on it. Thing is I don't have 12k for paint so I'm gonna try myself not looking forward to that. Also need a 454 someday always wanted one. If this 350 ever dies

Here's an update btw for anyone in the future. My aftermarket radiator has a pinhole in it I discovered and only leaks at high pressure causing most of my issues. I was working on it today replacing oil sender and adding another temp gauge truck heated up and opened the thermostat all at once (which is odd) sounded like someone stretching a rusty spring I could actually hear it standing next to the engine bay and at first thought my engine was seizing. But any ways noticed the pinholes then, not buying another radiator on eBay again and it stinks I threw my factory one out just cause it was ugly. Learned a lessen I hope at least. Thanks for the help
