I believe most people interested in vintage 16.5's will also want those tires too. Or at least, anyone wanting them for a truck they drive a lot. There's not much selection at all.

well...I would want pavement grabbing / smooth riding cooper cobras,..

I believe you are mistaken on the availability of various street tires for a 16.5".
