TransGo auto shift 4L80 transbrake kit

I just got a email from TransGo promoting a transbrake valve body kit that retains automatic shifts for the 4L80. After reading the instructions, it appears you can set the brake is first gear, and then manually shift it, or set the brake in D3, it will then go thru the gears normally once the brake is released.

I might have to look into this!!

Trans brake is cool, however that kit will increase line pressure so it will most likely shift a lot harder when it does shift on its own. Depending on how hard this may be an issue for normal driving. This is why mine is a manual shift I can shift early and not bang on the driveline unnecessarily. Also of note it requires the button to be activated to reverse. I fixed this on mine by making it activate when the reverse lights come on however when I do press the button to launch, they come on then as well.

It's not just a valve body kit you will be elbow deep in the guts of the trans itself as well. Which if you're planning a full rebuild anyways may not be a big deal.
