OK I was at my local used tire dealer to get a different tire put on my truck.

I currently run 31x10.5 R15 all the way around. He had a 10 R15LT.
How would that differ from a 31x10.5 R15?

Having a 31x10.5 R15 and the 10 R15LT side by side both deflated with no rims and they look like the same size but when they are inflated is one going to be bigger than the other?

He wants $45 for it with medium thread life left. I have never heard of this size before so I want to see if anyone here has heard of it.

I had never heard of it but I looked it up and everything I've seen says they are the same as 31x10.50x15s. Hope this helps!

It's basically a 31x10.50r15 but it's an older tire. The 10 means 10 inches wide and 15 is the rim size. Atleast thats my understanding of it.

Are you sure it is 10r15 or 10-15? I believe that is a bias ply tire, non radial. Years ago I ran 12-16.5's. Same as a 33x12.50x 16.5. Good tires but rough riding until they warmed up.

And if you let them sit up to long, like park it for a few months, you can count on flat spots from where it sat and makes for rough riding tire. If it's not to bad or doesn't but for a month or so, sometimes with some good highway driving on a hot day, you can drive the flat spot out. I think I'd try to avoid myself, unless you're just buying it for a spare to get home on. I'd also check the DOT serial #'s to find out the age of the tire. As a rule, if it's 7 years old, you shouldn't mount it and the tire should be scrapped. I have driven on some that were 10 year old radials though and didn't have a problem.
