The big day has arrived! The garage door has been widened. The transport is booked. My K30 gets delivered on saturday!

The one issue? Yes the door has been widened. I have not had it made taller though.

The K30 sits at 7ft 3 tall and i have 7ft 1 clearance.

I just plan to air the tires down. Roll it in and air them back up.

It’s on original 16.5” rims with 37” monster mudders on.

A couple were so deflated they were off what little bead there is. Had a fight getting them to seal to blow up again (used the ratchet strap round them method to bulge the side walls out).

They inflated fine and were holding air when i left it.

Question is, having read a few posts about low pressure tires easily coming off these 16.5” rims, how low is too low?

I’m now having heart palpitations worrying i’m gonna get it half way through the door, have a tyre off the bead, it’s gonna flop to the side and into a door frame or wall.

Sat waiting patiently for collection from the warehouse it’s stored in.

Nice truck!

For just moving it around, 5 psi should be no problem. That *might* get you enough clearance.

I concur, 5 psi just rolling easy not turning too much at one time should be good. At the dunes I fly around at 10 or 12 psi

Nice truck indeed. Maybe a smaller set of tires on a separate set of rims just for garage?

Beautiful truck!
I’d think you could air them down below 10psi and roll in and out no problem. Especially the rear tires.
Plus those are fat tires on what? 8” wide rims?
Wide tires and skinny rims hold a head better than on wider rims.
Either way you can gain 2” of clearance pretty easy.
Dunno what your garage looks like, but is there a rubber seal that you could remove or any of the trim?
I’m almost in a similar boat. 5/4 lift and new 35s just touches the rubber seal on the short doors. But it fits. I could get another 1-1/4” + by removing the seal and replacing the overhead trim with a 1x6 vs a 2x6.
Just some ideas.

Nothing at all above to remove. Just a steel beam. Had a couple of brick width removed and fully opening barn doors fitted to give maximum width.

Absolutely love the truck. Can’t wait to get it home and usable.

I was completely wrong. So very very wrong. At 0 psi on the gauge i gained, maybe a quarter inch on height.

Front wheels off. Bare rims on. Rolled on. Swapped back to tyres.

On sourcing some bald 10/16.5 tyres of like a bob cat skid steer. Bald bald ones should be about 27/28 inch diameter.

Fit them to the existing alloys and buy some new 16 or 17 inch rims to put big tyres on.
