The best thing to do would be to simply underdrive it by quite a bit, using a bigger pulley on the blower and a smaller pulley on the crank, and you can run the blower all day with no boost and the engine won't even know it's there, but it will still look awesome...
And you know Derek from Vice Grip Garage, he ended up with a 1974 Monte Carlo with a small block 400 in it, and he had a pro-charter supercharger laying around, so he bolted that thing on and went straight out and did a 5500 RPM burnout up to 75 or 80 miles an hour. I'm not sure how long he drove the car like that, but I never saw him blow it up.
