Back when I installed my first SC around the mid 90's, I had no motorhead friends or an Interweb with really cool YouTube videos, so I picked up that book read what I needed, cuz that's how I learned about working on cars -reading, then built my 355 accordingly, bought and installed the single quad blower without any hic-ups. If it wasn't for books I would have been lost.

Your pulley sizes are going to dictate what and how long you can get away with it. Spin it so you only have 5 pounds of boost it will live as long as a stock motor,as long as it's tuned right and never detonates.

Unless you already own the blower setup it'll probably be cheaper to just rebuild it and put a set of flat tops, a cam and lifter set and a set of decent heads on it.

The best thing to do would be to simply underdrive it by quite a bit, using a bigger pulley on the blower and a smaller pulley on the crank, and you can run the blower all day with no boost and the engine won't even know it's there, but it will still look awesome...

And you know Derek from Vice Grip Garage, he ended up with a 1974 Monte Carlo with a small block 400 in it, and he had a pro-charter supercharger laying around, so he bolted that thing on and went straight out and did a 5500 RPM burnout up to 75 or 80 miles an hour. I'm not sure how long he drove the car like that, but I never saw him blow it up.

If I was going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather make power than spend a bunch of money to just look cool but maybe that's just me.
