So my truck has had this irritating noise that came and went, well now it seems to have developed into a knock. What do yall think here?? I hope shes not about ready to blow! Im gunna pull valve covers and have a look for broken rocker studs.

Fan clutch? Doesn't sound like a rod knock or lifters to me.

check the fan and shroud.

also a long screw driver or extention pressed against you ear and various areas of the engine can help locate the noise.

For me, it’s hard to hear the true sound. But doesn’t sound like it’s an internal issue. Hope not anyways.

check that the fuel pump pin hasn't eaten its way out of the housing, the one on my 76 did and was making a ticking noise, the pump still worked as the fuel pump plate kept if from going anywhere. That was a 2 year old oreilys precision pump

The push rod?

The pin that the arm pivots on inside the pump can wear out the housing and start moving around
