th 400 swap

Hello i have a 700 r4 in my 87 burb 4x4 , and i was looking to replace it with a short tail th400 what would i need beside the transfer case to tranny adapter plate. Thanks for any help roy

I think there's a switch that goes on the gas pedal, and you may not be able to use that transfer case I dont think, the way the output shaft is on the trans it takes a special coupler and just about only goes with a NP205 for a TH400. Hopefully someone else will chime in and fill you in for sure.

You would need an NP208 and adapter from behind a TH400. The current NP208 will have a 27 spline input and the TH400 uses a 32 spline.
