Pound the ball joint studs through the back of the ball joint. Now you'll have a hollow ball joint make a relief cut or 2 in the hollow body.

Take a ball peen and firmly, but one or two single times smack the side of the casting where the taper goes in. Like the side of the casting. The hammer strike might break the taper lock
