Ever want to know what years of squarebodies came with what differentials??? Here you go.

REAR DIFFERENTIALS
CK10/CK1500 Rear Differentials
1973-1981 GM Corporate 12 Bolt
1982-1987 GM Corporate 10 Bolt (Thru 91 on Blazer, Jimmy & Burbs)

CK20/CK2500 Rear Differnetials
1973-1981 GM Corporate 14 Bolt 10.5in Full Float
1982-1987 GM Corporate 14 Bolt 9.5in Semi Float (Thru 91 on Burbs)
1982-1987 GM Corporate 14 Bolt 10.5 Full Float (Heavy Duty Optional) (Thru 91 on Burbs)

CK30/CK3500 Rear Differentials
1973-1991 GM Corporate 14 Bolt 10.5in Full Float
Dana 70 HD Also used in some models. Dual Rear Wheel and Cab & Chassis, Also Optional in others.

FRONT DIFFERENTIALS
K10/K1500/K5 Blazer -Jimmy Front Differentials
1973-1976 Dana 44
1977-1978 Transition Years. Could be either Dana 44 or GM Corporate 10 Bolt
1979-1987 GM Corporate 10 Bolt (Thru 91 on K5 Blazer - Jimmy)

K20/K2500 Front Differnetials
Same as K10/K1500 Had 8 Lug Hubs and Rotors instead of 6 Lug.

K30/K3500 Front Differnetials
1973-1976 Dana 44
1977-1991 Dana 60

*NOTE*: 1987-1991 C Series = R Series, K Series = V Series

So my Front Axle is a GM Corporate 10b, Warn Locking Hubs, 8lug. So would the front Axle be a 3/4 ton or a 1/2? What would be the ratios for each? I noticed that my Transfer-case is a NP-203, Ratio 201 with a Front Detroit Lock. I have no Idea what is good to have and what is bad. I would like to know, So please do tell.

...you keep asking similar things on different forums in several places...I am sorry that you don't understand yet.

1/2-ton or 3/4-ton the 10 bolt or Dana 44 is IDENTICAL in housing, in internal parts, in knuckles. To change from 6-lug to 8-lug or back the differences are from the spindles out, they unbolt from the knuckle, the brake caliper mount swaps out, spindles swap out and the hubs bolt on. Gear ratios aren't 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton specific, it could be any number of options. There are threads here on how to check. OR, pull the cover and either count teeth or roll the ring gear over until you can read the stamping.

so truck has a 14 bolt rear and dana 44 front, all 8 lug. im guessing they came out of one parts truck and i need to replace the wheel cylinders. that would have come out of an early c/k20 or c/k30 correct?

Most likely '73- early '77 K20. Are there locking hubs installed?

If they are held on with the little machine screws, they are probably from a '76 or '77. Bolts means they are external style hubs and from an earlier truck.

How can you tell a Dana 44 front axle and a corporate 10 bolt apart? Do they look different or just with numbers on the case?

They certainly do look different. The Dana 44 has the basic Dana look and the 10 bolt is almost round on the cover and the housing has 2 little ears that stick out past the cover that are usually quite noticeable to make a quick determination.

Ok, thanks y'all. I think my parts truck is a 87 with a mid 70s frame. Just wanted to see if it was a 44 in the front.
