Spare tire/wheel interchanges?

What other 15 inch wheels including other makes and models will work on our trucks? I need a spare and unsure what may fit. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

Don't the trucks from the GMT400 era have different backspacing?

Not that I know of, I see squares all the time with GMT400 wheels.

On 2wd models, there may not be much difference. On the 4wd wheels, the hub opening in the center of the newer trucks is smaller.

Thanks guys! I'll make a trip soon to my local salvage yard to try and find a narrow 15 inch that will work. My truck has been lowered 2" and I'm missing all the carrier hardware to secure the spare too so I'll look at trucks there for those pieces as well.

Maybe do what I did if you can. I know that a lot of people have put a winch-type GMT-400 spare tire carrier on a square.

I used a space-saver donut spare from a 1991 Caprice because I HATE it when the spare hangs below the bumper and I won't put it in the bed.

^ I like that small spare a lot and will look for one of those. Can you explain and show pics of how you mounted the later winch conversion?

I didn't get around to doing it to my squarebody. Apparently it's super easy, the hardest part is drilling a hole in the bumper to crank it down!

No luck at the salvage yard this morning. I did find and purchase a 91 Caprice 16X4 compact spare off eBay though. I will take some measurements under the bed as I plan to mount a winch type mechanism for a carrier.
