i've perused rockauto, lmc, and 'google'.

i'm trying to buy a replacement length of that semi rigid vacuum line that goes from the intake manifold to the back of the climate control. (t line going to vacuum ball and through the firewall)

anyone replace theirs?

mine has a defect in it very close to the firewall. like a lump. maybe from heat, who knows.
anyway, i need to replace the line but can't find it.

thanks for any help

:)

I just bought some at the auto parts store. Dorman product called hard hose. It comes in different diameters but only in black as far as I know.

It’s been a while, but the line I bought was Described as GM hard vacuum line, and I think there were two diameters available.

I think OEM is 3mm. I got 4mm from Napa and made it work. I had to deal with someone in their fleet dept as their regular counter guys didn't know what I was talking about.

there is a 'hard plastic' vacuum line going from the intake manifold to the climate control 'box' (the thing with the fan switch, hot/cold lever, and a/c,vent,heat,defrost lever)

the hard vacuum line is stopped up and therefore won't operate the vacuum operated doors in the air delivery box.

so i can't select between floor heat, face heat, windshield heat. (or cold as desired)

;)

my next trip to town during business hours, i'll get some new line now that i know what to ask for.

Are you sure the line is plugged? After I rebuilt my system and made sure all the vacuum pods were working, I determined it was the vacuum switch on the A/C controls (bottom left). Of course, that part is out of production. I had to buy a complete NOS HVAC control just to get the valve.

Hah, I never realized it was supposed to be hard, I always assumes it just stiffened up over time as it dried out.

its hard so it wont colapse (from vacuum). some folks refer to it as "DOT" hose, as used on air brakes, air bags, ir shocks, etc:
