That's a 27 spline, still a really good price though.

yupp brought it home, and realized its a 27, how could you tell(unless you just counted the splines) and I didn't realize a figure 8 pattern wouldn't fit

I'm hoping to tear the rest of the way into mine tonight. If I shredded a bearing (like I think I did) I"ll just rebuild mine. I found a couple of good rebuild kits from MOTIVE GEAR. If anyone has anymore or better suggestions, I'm all ears!

Like stink on ****. Just GET IT. $100 is a steal for any NP205. For that kind of money, you might be able to trade someone for a 32 spline, like I did my 27 spline NP208, or ever sell it for $200 to make a few bucks toward the purchase of a 32 spline unit. I wouldn't be afraid at all to run an NP205 behind a Th350. And that's a fixed yoke too, more desireable.

$300 is way to damn much for an NP208. Usually, you pay $250-$300 for an NP205 and can find NP208's for $100. I've even bought a K case 700r4 core with NP208 for $100, sold the NP208 for $100 and had a FREE 89 K case 700r4 core.

You can tell it's a 27 spline just by looking at the diameter of the opening in the adapter. The 32 spline is bigger than that. So you were needing a round pattern? What are you trying to make it too? That one is for a Th350. Could be adapted to fit a 700r4, but that's kinda going backwards. An NP208 is a better transfer case to go behind a 700r4 IMO.

thanks hotrod, im putting it behind a nv4500 which clearly is a round adaptor

Yep Yep Yep, Gotta have the round for the NV4500. Now I won't say never, cuz kleedus put a race track pattern behind his 4L80-E. Or course that one is a derivative of the Th400 so that helped, but normally the later model transmissions come with the round pattern adapter built in to the part of the trans case.

ooooo this is all making sense now, but they did make a 32 spline figure 8 pattern from like 80-85 am I correct?

Yes, the NP205 Pattern comes in both 27 and 32 spline inputs in racetrack pattern.

The easiest way to tell it was 27 spline was the 4 bolt holes that mount the adapter to the trans. 32 spline would have the 6-bolt pattern used on the th400.
