:025: I'm at the end of my rope here, fellas. Ok I have an 87 Chevy 454 with smog legal headers. I really want to put AC Delco wires. Is it possible to do this? Would I have to buy each individual wire seperately, or is there a kit that comes with all 90 degree boots that would be compatible with my 454? I would go with Accel or MSD, but I dont have the crimp tool. Can someone recommend me a set of assembled wires that would work on my truck? Delco or not? Thanks in advance.

if small block wires work ok for a big block then go down to your local parts store and take a look in some accel boxes. They had some with all 90's premade, no crimping, for sbc's they were like 4049 or 4048 or 4050 something along those lines. Look closely because the other set has all but 2 that are 90's and thus is has 2 that are straight boots. it's only $35 a set too.

Thank you for the info. I'm looking into it right now. I didnt know having headers would create such drama.

Are you wanting to run them over the valve covers, rather than under the headers (I prefer above)? It seems the selection is limited for pre terminated wires.

If all you need is 90* ends, try a set of small block wires. My '79 454 has headers and the 90* ends didn't work very well and the wires got burnt. I've got straights on it now, but a couple boots have to have those high temp boot protectors on them. Something in between a 90* and straight would work best.
