I'd say so as well, esp since that's a base car and not the ZR1...

This is how my day started yesterday. About 5 miles from this QT, I heard a loud bang like something hard hit my roof. Didn't think anything of it in the moment. The last ~1/2 mile or so, I felt like the truck was struggling, then noticed the lean when I parked. I think it must've been a screwdriver or something. That bang must've been the screwdriver or whatever it was hitting the inner wheel well in the rear. It was a perfect hole, nothing in the tire unfortunately

And this is how it ended. I plugged it, hoping I could save the tire but apparently I drove it completely flat longer than I realized. Sucks too cuz that was the best tire of the bunch, it still had a sticker on it when I bought it, it was brand new. Prior to last week, the worst of the 4 (it was cupped pretty good) was on that corner. Busted the **** out of the sidewall:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yup. Flat tires suck, whatever the reason. One cost me a day of work Friday, then $429 on Saturday afternoon to replace it and the left rear(bad tire was on the right rear too), including $75 for mobile service because my spare tire wouldn't hold air so we couldn't drive the truck a few blocks to the tire store.....

This just happened to my brother's '08 Silverado last week. R/R tire too. The valve stem failed had a bubble on it.

Behold the mighty 2010, 2wd, 4-cylinder, automatic, Ferd Ranger. Talk about a gutless boring to drive pile. A full tank of gas gets me 3-4 weeks of driving to and from work only. Currently has 130k. One more winter and she's outta here.

I've heard those get incredible milage. Have actually contemplated doing a drivetrain swap from one into a nice Mazda B2000 I have that has a locked up engine. What is your mpg. Oh I also contemplated a 4.8 LS for it IDK,lots of work. Where as a 4.3 V6 with a carb and hei is a 1 day deal other than the driveshaft.

Around 18-22 I think my commute is all back roads basically, highway would probably push it up to around 25-27.

It's parked in the front yard now because single lane driveway and I've been driving the C10 and if I need to make a quick run especially late at night it's easier to get it out and not wake up the neighborhood.

Idk about the 4 bangers but I can tell ya the 4.0 V6 DOES NOT lol. My grandpa had a gold '98 ECSB 2wd 4.0 and the best it ever got was 16

I have the 2003 version of that truck with the smaller 3.0 V6, its not going to set any records at the strip for certain but its a perfectly comfortable road tripper that keeps up on the highway. Gets about 16-17 MPG in mixxed town/highway use and I've gotten 19-20mpg on straight highway trips.

As noted, the 4 bangers gas milage is fine it's just a boring to drive commuter with heat.

If the above is all correct a 4.3 is the logical choice bang for the buck speaking,it's practically a bolt in,it actually pretty much is a bolt in and MPGs shouldn't be too far off. @bucket whats the best 4.3 that will take old V6 HEI and intake? I had 90 S10 4.3 donor truck but the neighbors girl friend stole it and set my project back

'95 or older. Unless there is an aftermarket 4bbl intake available for '96 and later.

Balance shaft started in '92, iirc.

Since I've gotten it on the road, I've put on 1450 miles, 132 gallons of fuel and about $400 spent on that fuel, but worth every smile and thumbs up this baby gets on the road.

Did the math for the C10 I'm at 298mi on 50 gallons of 93 at $4 per gallon puts me at 5.96 miles per gallon and about $200 thus far. $200 in the ranger of 87 would be 67 gallons and about 1200 miles.

oops wrong place but screw it I'll leave it.
