Short box swap? Dirty talk Wednesday ?

So I got a lead on a parts truck that has a short box. My box in the back is rotted at the tailgate hinges, and I smoked the tailgate years ago doing a burn out with a cast iron radiator in the back. lol.

I have a 87 v10 short box. So the question is, will any short box fit? I think the parts truck is a early 80's 2wd. It has the lay down side markers, box condition UK. I am not going to look if it will not fit.

Any box info?

They all interchange. The early had exposed gas caps(73-79ish), the later(80+) had square doors for the gas cap. Some had tanks on both sides, some on just one. If you have dual tanks and use them, you'll need a bed with bilateral doors.
