I have a Full floating 14 bolt rear end need new drums. I can pick some up for 60 bucks new from a guy on craigslist but he says they are for a semi floater. Is the drum different? Thanks

just a thought buying new ff drums vs converting the rear to disc would be close to the same price

Good call Mark. Certainly worth consideration, cuz the cost isn't far off from each other if he has to buy new drums from a retailer, and can figure something out for a Park brake.

The thing about those biggo honkin Full and Semi Float too for that matter, unless those drums have been severely neglected and rivets ground into them, they last a long long time. So if he can find a used set, even if all they have is one good turn down left on them, for say $40 or so, they'll last a very long time. I'd hate to guess for how long since you never know how weight a guy is carrying or towing, or living in an area where he drives a 6% grade everyday, but a good rear brake job on a Full or Semi float could last some of us 20 years or more.
