I purchased a seat cover from LMC and was going to tackle the seat here shortly in my 84 K10. If I get it apart and need springs, where can I order them? Also, is there anything that goes over the springs that needs replaced, burlap or whatever? I've seen the prices of foam, if I need that, I'll go to plan B before I pay that. Any thing else I should know or need, feel free to speak up, this is my first recover job.

Here are some images of a seat that I was bringing in to be re-covered.

I don't recall there being any type of sheathing between the wires that form the seat support frame and the underside of the foam. The last photo seems to confirm this.

As for broken springs; you probably won't find any of the actual springs broken. They are very sturdy and are located at the extreme rear of the seat connected to the wire support frame. It is far more likely that you will find one or more of the support wires have snapped. In that case you can fabricate new ones from baling wire. Just snip out the broken wire, cut a piece of baling wire to the appropriate length (with plenty of extra to allow the ends to be twisted) and string a new wire to the front and back border cables. Get it good and tight and then secure it by twisting the ends.

Junk yards are a good place to find springs also.
