No not really with makes it hard to actually hear the noise.

At idle a stock/mild engine with a good vacuum signal will have noticeable sucking sound at the carb.

Now something like a whistle sound could be a vacuum leak, but the above is normal without an air cleaner.

Id go ahead and change the plugs as they're cheap then you'll know you put new plugs in and can forget about them for a while.

Sounds normal if you haven’t heard an engine rev up with out an air intake or air cleaner on it.
