Has anyone done this?

Is it easier to just use the frame off my truck and make a roll cage over it?

Or start from scratch?

Im no engineer but if you have the means to make a roll bar from scratch, you have the means to make a frame?

Start from scratch. It will be more rigid that way.

The best is from scratch or you can box the frame and build what you want from there and save time on the geometry for suspension steering and axle location but it sounds like all that is not an issue for u but to save time just make your frame suit your needs u have
