I did mine all by hand, looking back at the amount of time and effort I defintely wish I just took it to get blasted. I used wire wheels, and what was most effective was those sponge looking paint stripper wheels in an angle grinder. Then used KBS frame coating (smilar to POR15) and top coated in Eastwood chassis black. I did send out the crossmemer and various other parts out to be sandblasted and powdercoated.

I did mine by hand scraping and sanding then brushed a few heavy coats of Rustolium paint.
Really the truck is lowered so once the box is on there is one person that will be seeing the frame…me. It’s not a show Queen so won’t have any mirrors on the ground when it gets parked I just want it to be clean and control the rust.

We did the same thing and I agree, paying the $1000ish would probably have been worth it.

Yours does look like it turned out great!

I meant spray it right then and there, the stuff is the consistency of water he could spray the whole thing in a couple of minutes to protect it from rusting until he can do whatever he wants to do.
I use Ospho
