Sanden compressor wiring

I'm currently in the process of changing out all the components of my AC system. I'm going with a Sanden compressor which has 1 green wire. Which wire off of the old r4 plug should I use? There's a green and a black which I tested for 12v but neither gave me a reading. Thanks in advance.

id guess black is ground and green is power coming from the low pressure cutoff switch.

Also be aware there is supposed to be some sort of diode in the orig R4 connector, so that may interfere with the meter readings. Also if you're clipping off the R4 connector to install your Sanden, please don't chuck it...I need one (with a couple inches of wire to splice on to).

Zener Diode for fly-back protection.
Should not interfere with 12v to your meter if the switch is activated.

If you have the 1989 dash controller you may have an electrical circuit for A/C with the three dial controller?
It will get activated through the computer with an RPM bump on your 89' TBI engine fuel map.
Your A/C control panel is all low voltage to a controller/relay circuit, so it's complicated to suss out.

Your computer controls the engine as the A/C system cycles to keep the engine and transmission synchronized with cruise controller.
Especially during converter lock-up.

You can buy a replacement connector. They are readily available.
