Why do you need the first relay? The Dk Grn wire is what energizes the coil normally.

I added the relay bc I figured the og wiring didn't and a relay wouldn't hurt.

Did you end up not using the diode? Relays result in same protection?

I did an LS swap into dads 1987 R30 and ran the green wire directly to the compressor, but the HVAC switches don’t seem to be working right and the compressor cycles off/on ever 3-5 seconds…reading your post, I’m wondering if I fried something.

First iteration I used a diode protected relay however that relay was located by the battery and the power wire fed clear across the engine bay to the ac compressor. Everything worked fine but I I realized with the diode relay so far from the ac compressor, When the ac compressor cycled on and off, the length of power wire could cause some EMI issues with my holley sniper. So I rigged up a fly back diode right at the ac conpressor.

Maybe your low pressure cut off switch is cooked. Or your refrigeratent is lowe or backed up in the system.

You can also just buy a pack of diodes and wire your own. Just look up fly back diode and watch a video to get the basic idea.

I should mention the ac kick was worthless. The engine could not care less about the ac compressor. For reference the engine is a fresh 383 and the a/c system is all new.
