I was introduced to RockAuto here also. Someone mentioned the place once. Some talked about a good deal they got another time. I checked out there site and their catalog. Decided I'd sure buy there if the time came. Then Shaggy worked a deal and they became a Vendor here just this month. Imann even got a new grill from them for $20 and it looks OEM as can be.

GREAT place, man. I've ordered a few things from them in the past (they've actually been around for several years now) and they're always top notch and usually lowest on prices too

not to impressed with there shipping services, there prices are hard to beat on somethings but. I ordered a fuel pump and a set of gas tank straps, when I check on the status of the order I get 2 different tracking numbers, 1 is for usps and the other is a fedex smart post, ordered 2 packages 1 coming from texas and the other coming from Iowa, the one from usps should have defintly been here today priority mail, but it didnt show, the other could have been here today as well but now it shows to be delivered on the 26th of october, Honestly had I known there would be this much of a delay I would have just ordered the parts locally and had them the next day.

Seems to me it is just a big dropshipping company

I agree. They way they do shipping is terrible. I ordered 5 items once and they were shipped from 3 different places.

IMO....I don't care how many different packages the stuff comes in as long as it arrives when they tell me it'll arrive I'm happy. The few items I've ordered there have always come in the time slot they said it would and in great shape. The fact that the items can come from anywhere and not just one "Rock Auto Warehouse" doesn't bother me a bit

I would rather have it ship from one location to save me money on shipping, and wait longer for it.

If it comes from a location closer to you, though, it probably is cheaper to ship from there rather than from where ever Rock Auto is actually located.

Still having the convenience to be a one stop shop to get all you need, and if their support is good should I need an exchange, quick responses etc, I could care less if the stuff showed in different colored truck. I also know a bit about biz, and know the way for them to keep prices low, its impossible to stock all the inventory they sale. That would mean more man hours in labor, more transportation costs to them that would be passed onto me, and imagine the size of the facility they'd have to have to warehouse all the parts blah blah blah. Gotta keep overhead low to pass on cheap prices for quality mech. If the merch is good, and shipping is timely, drop shipping is just fine for me and I don't have to go to 6 different websites and give out my credit card 6 times, and 6 differant emails to keep track of. As long as my order status is all in one place... JMO.

Most likely due to the oversized item. Large items regardless of weight will always cost a lot to ship.
