Redoing my Dash Pad

My buddy has a upholstery setup at his house, so i figured it would be perfect place to learn and do this my self. Its a work in progress.

What did you use to get all that off? Is the whole dash pad all metal under there? I am wondering if it would look good stripped down and painted too?

need the foam, foam gives it the deefinition and curves. or else it would look pretty boxy. and i just used a paint scraper to get the vinyl off. some spots of chunks of foam ripped off, but i got lots of foam.

put filler in the big cracks, then sand smooth(im going to fill the speaker holes too. i got kick panel speakers)

What kind of filler are you using to fill the big cracks?

what filler is that housing spackle or drywall mud type stuff?

oh no.. it is spackling.. its gonna turn back into powder and make constant dust falling down..

I know the OP hasn't been back since February but I'm going to go out in a limb here and say spackle is NOT what should be used for this project
