Are you sure the brakes are not locked up?

Only options I know of are either pull from behind if its a wrecker or put in neutral. Unless there is something else I don't know of. (That is VERY possible by the way) Interesting question. I see people pulling behind RV's all the time and never really thought about it.

Probably the brake drums locked up not the rear end itself.

It is very very rare to hear of a differnetial locking up, but it is common to hear of brakes locked up, espeicallly rear drums if the vehicle has sat for a long time. Has it been sitting awhile???

Your not supposed to tow a RWD with auto trans in neutral unless you have a T-case you can put in neutral. If the gears in the rear are toast you might have to know the two carrier spider gears out and put the pin back in the carrier to hold the axles on. You can drop the driveshaft but if it is a auto trans you got to plug the output saft hole so it don't leak all over. I agree with these guys it could be the brakes, look at that first. What are you going to tow it with. Roll-nacks are the norm these days...

I'm guessing it could be a parking brake that's seized or rusted while on too. I'll check that. If that doesn't work, maybe buy/borrow, some dollies and get it pulled up on a flatbed.

If it rolls a little bit forward/backward before it stops solid I would blame something in the 3rd member, but if it's just froze solid I would say it's related to the brake shoes seized in the drums. I would haul it with a car hauler or lowboy trailer and not take the chance of getting them freed up just to have something else cause it to freeze up again.
