Yes, the suburban bumper is the same as the optional truck "Sport" bumper. You'll need to purchase inner braces though. $50-60 at LMC or find some used.

Yeah, the Suburban rear frame ends are different than a pickup.

We sport bumpered our truck for a while as we found one in the junkyard in great shape.
No idea why it was spray painted black though, the chrome under is just fine.
Mine is a '79 though, not an '82.
We did have to buy the different brackets for it.
Now we have a stock truck chrome bumper as it makes getting into the bed simpler for me.
