Rear Step Bumper Pad 1985 GMC C15

Looking for help locating a step pad (rubber insert) for a rear step bumper on a 1985 GMC C15. Evidently one was employed at one time from a PO but has since been removed and left behind a dirty gummy mess. Have been able to find for 1988 and newer but not older. Any help greatly appreciated in locating a retailer. Have checked LMC and Classic Industries but either not available or I am blind. Thank you.

I've never seen a pad on a step bumper for these, just bare metal/chromed/painted/etc

Thank you, I thought same but could be someone may have used a peel and stick tread anti-slip sticker but I'll keep looking.

If there's no holes, that's definitely what they did. Back then, any sort of pad would have most likely had some studs/pins/hardware into the bumper whether it was OE or aftermarket

Definitely no holes but a suitable rubber pad would be nice. You'd think someone would make one with pressure sensitive adhesive backing.

You might make a cardboard templet then find an old or new floor mat and cut one to match your templet and glue it in place. Just an idea.

Back in 85, my 74 C10 had a bunch of holes all across the front bumper, but no rubber. I didn't think about it at the time as it was just an everyday vehicle, not the collectors items they are now. Standard painted step bumper in the rear though.

Go the the riding mower accessory aisle at Lowes/Home Despot. See the 2 pack of self adhesive rubber step pads? 2 minutes with pencil, ruler and box cutter… Can even be trimmed out for your trailer ball and chain retention eyebolts or clevises.

Improvise. Adapt. Make it work. You have to make -your- truck suit -your- unique needs/taste/wants. Some may not like your additions, others will love them and want to know how to replicate it.
