Behind the original looking radio that has the wires cut is a harness. Looks like its part of the dash harness. I think its for a radio but I'm not sure.

It has three wires. A black, a dark grey and a yellow. Is this the radio plug? and can I use it to power my newer radio?

Is it a black plug?
Im pretty sure that those were the power/ground for the factory radio.

Radio plug sounds right.

Yellow = 12+ switched
Gray = Illumination
Black = Ground

You will have to run your 12+ constant to the fuse box (best) or to the cig lighter but yes, you can power your new radio with that.
