Good Morning Square Body Friends,
I am building a 383 for my 1978 Scottsdale 4x4. I am not putting crap parts on this from Autozone and was wondering if any of you had a good source for QUALITY Steering pumps and Alternators. I do not want to invest in remanufactured parts....just a waste of time. If any of you guys have name brands or vendors in mind I would love to hear them.

Thanks from AZ!

Mike

For high quality alternators, check out Mechman as they are used by the car stereo guys that need massive power.

I have seen on this forum that some have used PSC Power Steering Pumps.
They seem to have quite the selection of whatever you will need to make your truck steer.

For PS and alts I scan Rock alot. Many times get new-old stock (made in USA/Canada) at a decent price. Plus its a whole lot cheaper than the blister pack stores.

Both my alt and PS pump were GM Delco Professionals made in Canada. Ebay is another place you can find NOS original parts.

To add to what Chris said, ACDelco is still making new alternators and power steering pumps for these trucks. Any parts store that knows how to order parts from ACDelco direct should be able to get them, so there is another option.
