First one is a 92 is for certain a 700r4, and was who know what day of he year, cuz there is NOT 963 days a year, and was built 2nd shift.

Second on either a 82 or a 89, a 700r4 and built 338th day of the year on first shift. So how do you tell if it's a 82 or 89??? If it has pressure ports it's an 82, if no pressure ports and the rainbow, it's an 89. Being a 338th day of the year, it's a very late in the year trans and could very well have the updates listed for the following year, in this case, an 83 or a 90.

No pressure ports at all so I'm guessing its a 89 because it does have the big k and the rainbow on the side same as the 92 trans they look 100% same

That's an 89 then. :waytogo:

This is true, but you don't know that until you take the pan off. 82 and 89 are the only ones that have the 9 as first digit. Pressure Ports and no Rainbow it's an 82, WO pressure ports and W Rainbow, it's an 89.

Yup, I remember my original 86 unit, it had a switch in one of the pressure points on the side to let the ecm know when it was in high gear I guess.

Try doing a search for TV cable adjustment, might even be a stickey in the transmission section.

Might be a good time to do a trans service. New Filter and Flush the fluid. Did you drive it long enough to get it good and warmed up and it all drove just fine the whole time while cold and warmed up??? If so, it's very probable, either the Governor Valve was hung up with a piece of junk in it, or a valve in the valve body was hung up. Whatever could have had the valve hung up, is now dislodged and it's working OK. But, that's a sign there is some junk making it's way thru the trans and you should try to get it before it repeats itself.

Also, make sure your TV cable is free and not getting stuck or has any kinks in it. Sometimes you can throttle to the floor, the TV cable comes all the way out, then when you let off the cable stays out, telling the trans you're foot is to the floor so delay the shift long as possible before shifting therefore it won't shift until the governor overrides the TV valve and allows the shift.

Tv cable is all good. Planning on servicing it ASAP
