Do u guys know of any place where I can find the original paint color for my 79. I really want to paint it the original color but I can't find anything.

Any decent auto body supply store should have a book with the colors for each year/make/model. You could match from that.

Thed Oriellys i worked at had a Dupont mix booth in it and we could look any color off of the year in the computer or iff you had the paint code off the truck.

Still should have a paint code in the rpo codes of find a spot that is not faded and they can use the handheld color matcher to get the paint code.

In the glove compartment is an RPO tag. The paint code should be on it.

This is usually done in a door jamb where the sun hasn't hit the paint and faded it. Do you have a pic of your truck. One of us likely have the color code on ours.

But what color was it? What do you mean when you say "special ordered"? Was it some odd color that was used for a fleet, or just a GM color that wasn't normally available on a pickup?

Special Colors are still listed in brochures sometimes, and there is usually an upcharge for special colors. There was 2 different Greens in 79, and yours is probably one of them.
