So I have been considering a 1" body lift from ORD, and I was wondering if anybody has one so I can see pics of the bumper gap? Also the ease of install. I figure it cant be too bad. Im just a little worried about bumper gaps mainly and if there are any kind of brackets out there for the SB. I sure as hell cant find any.:Sumo:

I can't help you with pics but I do have a questions...

What is the purpose of a 1" body lift? To fit more tire? These are probably really stupid questions but that's alright! :D

Could be anything from fitting a tire to clearing and air filter lol. I just want it for when I do 35s. I know for a fact that they will clear now but I dont like the stuffed look..

Most people just do the hockey puck lift if an inch is all they're doing. ORD makes good stuff though. I dont think 1" would make a gap, but rather put the bumper very close to the filler panel.

Not sure, might be able to re-drill the frame to re-bolt the bumper brackets higher and make it up.

I would think you might be able to cut and modify the brackets to lift it, but if it were me I'd do zero rates on all four corners 2 get an inch of lift. be easier and better then a body lift IMO. I think and inch would be a total waste of time, if 35's are gonna be stuffed stock an 1 aint gonna help it to be less stuffed. I would think to be unstuffed you'd want a 3 inch or 2 at least.

Persoanlly I love the stuffed look. I hate seeing like a 12 inch lift and 35's or something.

Ehhhhh it just depends for me. somtimes I like seeing the 35s on a 12" lift. gotta be some fat tires. But I like this

I already have zero rates in the rear and I will throw some up front and move the axle forward an inch when I do the crossover

I think the tread on the tire makes the sidewall look smaller than it is...

I always said I'd never do a body lift on either of my 4x4's, but I notice my 85 K1500 has some pretty sad looking body bushings. So, I'm thinking, since I'll be going thru the motions and be there anyway, I may as well do a 2 inch. I just don't want to go so crazy it causes issues and I hope 2in doesn't take up to much space at the bumpers and look hideous. So, more than likley all said and done, probably end up with 4in suspension, 2in body. I also know lifting gets addictive too, so maybe I should just go for the 6in suspension right off the bat. That's a ways off anyway.

If I was doing a body lift I think the minimum I'd go would be 2" myself. 1" just doesn't sound worthwhile but as stated before I'm not real experienced in the 4x4 world as the vast majority of my rigs in past and present have been 2wd.

Body lifts are pure evil. Some states mandate no more than 2" is allowed and some say none at all. Reason being it increases the leverage between the frame and body, in a heavy collision the body can actually come off the frame. This happened just last year here in an accident where a young man lost his life. This is why I would prefer a hockey puck lift. They have a larger footprint compared to regular body lift bushings which are usually taller than they are wide.

Also the hard blocks used in a body lift have no cushion and can actually damage or crush the points of the body where they contact over time, especially older, weaker metal.
