Ok, I have had an oil leak now for a couple of weeks, and I still can't find were it is coming from, I have
1) changed out the valve cover gaskets,
2) went under it today to check oil pan gasket, and to see if the rear main is leaking. Pan and torq converter were dry.
3) checked oil pressure line and connections, took it apart cleaned them and put it back together.

I'm wondering if it could be the valve cover gaskets I used, they were the rubber gasket with the metal center, so I'm going to change them out again with the good old cork.

I'm wondering if it could be the high volume oil pump causing to much pressure in the motor, and all I have is a PCV valve to vent the motor.

The fire wall and back of the motor is not wet, so I don't think it is intake manifold gaskets.

Anyone have any suggestion, because it is becoming a big pain in the ass.

mine was doing the same ****, without venting the crankcase it pressurizes the crank case and blows oil out of the the valve cover gaskets. I had a PVC on one side and plugged the other, as soon as I removed the plug and let it vent the leak stopped. I dont know what valve covers you are running but you could get one of those little universal breathers and drill a hole in your valve cover to solve it.

Definately need more than just the pcv to vent. On my valve covers where you put the oil in it has a push-in vent, like this...

Timing cover leaking, front seal on timing cover leaking? You can try putting that dye for 100 miles then check it with a uv light.

I replaced my VC gaskets with high quality ones and they still leaked. The only answer was to put sealant on them and it stopped. I think the VC's are warped or some ****, they are the center bolt ones. I gooped them up instead of blowing coin I don't have to spare on new VC's.

It was leaking on the pass side rear VC, driver's side is fine. Very hard to detect leak, mad it look like the oil pan was leaking.

Thanks guys I was really thinking it could be the pressure, when I was up at Autozone they had a chrome Edelbrock breather, so I got that, put the new cork gaskets in, and replaced my oil plug with the breather, and bought a new PCV valve, so I guess we'll see what that does.

I like using the cork gaskets that have the really thin rubber-like coating on them. They seal great and you can even reuse them. Mr Gasket Ultra Seal I think they are called.

OK......... I'm at my wits end with this BS, today I replaced the intake gasket, and I do believe that was my problem. When I took off the intake the end gasket (I use silicone instead of the little black rubber pieces that come in the kit) any way the silicone was coated with oil on both sides, and it pealed off the intake with no problem, or residue. One funny thing is when I put the distributor back in it slipped right back in, I said to Little Buddy that never happens that easy, he said it was because he was there and it knew better. I had to laugh. I did catch Little Buddy messing with the oil drain pan, and wiping the oil on his face, hands, and clothes. (Now he has some "working on cars clothes")

Tomorrow I'm dropping the oil pan, and replacing the high volume oil pump with a standard volume oil pump.

I do have a new oil leak, that I've never heard of. My drive shaft is leaking at the slip yoke, by the U joint, anyone know how to fix that one?

Yes I did, when I took the dizzy out it was coated with oil also, so yes it got replaced.

The oil leak that has got me is the one one the slip yoke. I guess I can take out the drive shaft, take the U joint out, and see if I can weld the end up or put a screw in it or something like that.

No I'm say the rear of the slip yoke at the transmission is leaking. Were the U joint attaches the shaft and slip yoke together, it is leaking at the slip yoke side. It's the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
